Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the program committee, I am glad to inform you that the following workshops/tutorials will be offered on July 25 in the 17th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE NANO 2017), which will be held at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center in Pittsburgh, USA, July 25-28, 2017:
IEEE Vision on Nanorobotics
Focused Electron and Ion Beam Techniques: Basics and Applications
Spintronic and Nanomagnetic Computing Devices
Scanning Probe Microscopy: Beyond Topography
NanoPhononics: Thermal Generation, Transport, and Conversion at the Nanoscale
For detailed information about these workshops/tutorials, please see the attached file, or visit the conference website: http://www.ieeenano.org/2017/workshops-and-tutorials/

In addition, the paper (abstract) submission deadline for IEEE NANO 2017 has been extended to March 25. If you have interest in participating the conference, please submit your paper (abstract) before the new deadline. Please be reminded this is a FIRM deadline. IEEE NANO 2017 will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, interaction, networking and collaboration for research and development in nanotechnology with special attention to the latest advances in nanotechnology. Topics for contributing papers include but are not limited to
DNA Nanotechnology
Micro-to-nano-scale bridging
Modeling and Simulation of Nanostructures and Nanodevices
Nanobiology and Nanomedicine
Nanomanufacturing and Nanofabrication
Nano Robotics and Automation
Nano-optics, Nano-optoelectronics, and Nanophotonics
Nanoscale Metrology and Characterization
Nano/Molecular Heat Transfer & Energy Conversion
Nanoscale Communication and Networks
Nano/Molecular Sensors, Actuators, and Systems
Nanotechnology Safety, Education and Commercialization
NEMS and Micro-to-nano-scale bridging
Special Sessions: Quantum Information Processing
Special Sessions: Quantum Rings
Special Sessions: Nano Structured Solar Cells
Special Sessions: Nanopositioning

The Important Dates of IEEE NANO 2017 are now updated t
Submission of two-page abstract: March 25, 2017
Workshop/tutorial proposals: March 1st, 2017
Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2017
Final submission: May 15, 2017
Early bird registration deadline: June 1, 2017
Conference: July 25-28, 2017

Authors have two choices for paper submissions:
(1) 4-6 pages full paper for best papers contest. You MUST submit a full paper (4-6 pages) for review if you want to participate in the best papers contest. If you have submitted your a two-page abstract already but want to participate in the contest, you can update your submission to a full paper before the new submission deadline.
(2) 2 pages extended abstract for review. The 2 pages extended abstract is for review only. If you only want to present your results at the conference but not to publish your paper in IEEE Xplore, you don’t need to submit a full paper after paper acceptance notification. If you want your papers to be included in the conference proceedings published by IEEE Xplore, you need to submit a full paper and a copyright transfer form before the deadline of final submissions (if accepted). The conference proceedings published by IEEE Xplore are indexed by EI. The full paper here requires the paper length with a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of six (6) printed pages (10-point font) including figures without incurring additional page charges (maximum 1 additional page with overlength page charge of USD100 if accepted).
There are two types of paper presentations: either oral or poster. Although the type of presentation is determined by the program committee, authors can choose their own preference during submission. The program committee will take consideration of author's preference especially when the poster option is chosen. If you do not choose the presentation type during submission, your preference is considered as oral by default. Please check the conference website for more updating on the conference.
Plenary Speaker
Over the years, IEEE NANO has striven to feature high quality invited presentations from leaders and pioneers in the nanotechnology discipline. We proudly announce that, Sir James Fraser Stoddart, the 2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, has accepted our invitation to give a plenary speech on “Nanomachine” at the IEEE NANO 2017!

Yours Sincerely,
General chair: Guangyong Li (University of Pittsburgh)
General co-chair: Parviz Famouri (West Virginia University)
Organizing chair: William Stanchina (University of Pittsburgh)
Program chair: Lixin Dong (Michigan State University)
Program co-chairs: Avik Ghosh (University of Virginia)
Li Zhang (Chinese University of Hong Kong)
